It may be time to get the water element in your body moving again… but how can you know whether you need to? And how can you get it circulating again?

Just one element among others in your energy system

According to the work of Dr. Randolph Stone, the founder of polarity therapy, there are five elements at play in our physical and energy body: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Each element is the keystone to specific emotions, organs, and physiological functions.

The WATER around us

What comes to mind when you think of water?

Water can be refreshing, like a swim in summertime, or it can be boiling, like when you make a hot, comforting drink.

Water is looped into a continuous cycle between the earth and sky through rain and evaporation. It runs from higher terrains to lower ones. When exposed to cold, it freezes and can rupture structures and containers.

In a moderate quantity, water flow is soothing, almost musical. Over time, it can crack rock and foundations, and its runoff can bore channels—even valleys and canyons over centuries.

When the amount of water surges, water is formidable: think of the waves at sea and maritime hazards, floods, tsunamis.

Water gives life to plants and other living organisms and beings. Without it, nothing can grow or survive.

Your relationship to WATER

How would you describe your own relationship to water?

Are you attracted to lakes, rivers and streams? Do you like swimming, or taking baths? How do you react when faced with emotion, your own or someone else’s? How do you feel on a rainy day? What about after a whole week of rain? How much water do you drink?

Think of other ways this element manifests in your day-to-day life, and how you relate to these.

Analyzing the WATER in your energy system

Here are a few questions to ponder for an idea of how the element of water is doing in your body as an energy system:

  • Do you fear criticism? Disappointment?
  • Does it feel like parts of your life are just not flowing?
  • Are you still holding onto old suffering or painful memories?
  • Do you feel like giving up as you get older?
  • Do you have trouble with creativity or creation of any kind?
  • Do you have pelvic or low-back pain?
  • If you’re a woman, do you feel uncomfortable wearing dresses, skirts, or colours associated with femininity?

If you answered YES to one or more of these questions, it may be the right time for you to balance the water element in your energy system—or have an energy practitioner do it for you!

What to do

If you think your water element is “a bit off” these days, just being aware of this fact is a great place to start.

Next, in your day-to-day life, keep an eye out for anything associated with water, whether the actual H2O or the element’s physical and energy qualities. After a week, see if you’ve noticed anything in particular, perhaps a pattern or a recurring theme.

Now it’s time to do something about it… yourself! What does your intuition say? Reflect on the nature of water as you have here, and wait for inspiration.
